Strawberry Ice Cream

Here is another ice cream recipe I’m hoping to try soon! This one looks delicious! Remember with SCD, the hemp milk is not legal. I have not found “legal” almond milk on the store shelves. I have heard there is one out there, but I have not found it. I have tried making homemade almond milk before and it’s actually pretty simple!

I am SO ready for some ice cream! I’m an ice cream every night person! Lol I have tried a good many recipes for SCD legal ice cream. I have never found a recipe that my son just loved. I haven’t ever found a recipe that I’ve made twice. So I am hoping to start trying some new ice cream recipes over the next month and I’m hoping to find you and Justin a great summer ice cream recipe!

Here’s the first recipe I’m planning on trying this week! I will comment and let you know how we liked it! I’m thinking about adding the frozen cherries to my first batch. Be sure to read all the add in options you can do to make it different each time! Looks easy!

Instant Frozen Yogurt

This seems simple! Hope it’s as yummy as it looks easy!

Instant Frozen Yogurt

•2 cups frozen berries*
•1 frozen banana
•1/2 cup coconut milk
•2 tablespoons honey

Place all ingredients in high-powered blender. Blend on high for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy. Scoop into 4 small bowls. Serve immediately or cover and store in freezer.

*could use frozen strawberries, but raspberries, blackberries or blueberries would work too.

SCD Yogurt Survey – Whole Milk or Half & Half?

One mom asked on a comment if you used whole milk or half and half for your yogurt? Do you use what you do to bump up the calories? I’m curious do you use what you do as a taste preference?

I presently use whole milk. I have used half and half, but my son liked the whole milk better. I’m curious to hear what you use and why? Calories? Flavor? Justin has said there was a different texture/consistancy.

I actually tried making my yogurt with coconut milk a couple of weeks ago. I wondered if the sweet coconut flavor would make it taste better. After being in the yogurt maker, the coconut milk had separated and a couple had molded on the top. So I don’t recommend this. Someone told me there was a yogurt recipe in Against All Grain cookbook using coconut milk, but the instructions sounded like it was too much trouble. I’ve thought about trying it. The instructions for the SCD legal yogurt sounded like alot of trouble when I first read them, too. And now after making it so many times, it’s like second nature! Who would have thought! Lol
